Overview for ISTA Project 6 SAMSCLUB:

ISTA Project 6 SAMSCLUB is a simulation test for unitized loads shipped through Sam’s Club distribution system to final destinations in the United States. This project uses general simulation of actual transport hazards by ground on unitized loads with four variations of shipment methods, Type A – Type D. Project 6 is a test standard that evaluates the ability of a packaged product to survive a simulated distribution environment. The Samsclub test method refers to the specific test procedures and criteria used by the retailer Sam’s Club for their packaging requirements. These tests may include drop, vibration, and compression testing to ensure that products can withstand the rigors of transportation and storage.  Purple Diamond Testing offers ISTA 6-SAMSCLUB Testing as part of our packaging distribution testing services.

Rationale for ISTA Project 6 SAMSCLUB:

ISTA 6-SAMSCLUB – Packaged-Products for Sam’s Club® Distribution System Shipment. Can be used to evaluate the protective performance of a unitized load related to thermal conditions, shocks, static compression, random vibration, and other stressors normally met in Sam’s Club distribution system. The procedure is used to create general simulation hazards in a laboratory environment that is 100% repeatable. This project is used to help vendors certify and become compliant to packaging requirements for Sam’s Club®.
