Overview for ISTA Project 6 AMAZON.COM SIOC:
ISTA 6-AMAZON.COM-SIOC is a general simulation test for packaged-products shipped through Amazon’s distribution system to final customer destinations (The Last Mile). This project uses general simulation of actual transport hazards by either ground or air with eight variations of shipment methods, Type A – Type H. Purple Diamond Testing offers ISTA 6-AMAZON.COM-SIOC testing as part of our packaging distribution testing services. We follow all ISTA protocols and guidelines. This procedure itself was developed in response to the booming e-commerce market. Having a standardized test like this one has made it easier for businesses, and even consumers, to sell or resell their items on the Amazon platform. When this test is completed, a shipper will find that there is a significant product to market time reduction involved. One will gain more confidence in the product launch as well. There will be a significant reduction in damage and product loss as well as a more balanced distribution cost analysis. These factors will lead to increased customer satisfaction, which will contribute to an increased market share for the seller and/or shipper.
Rationale for ISTA Project 6 AMAZON.COM SIOC:
ISTA 6-AMAZON.COM-SIOC – Ships in Own Container (SIOC) for Amazon.com Distribution System Shipment. Will be used to evaluate the protective performance of a packaged product related to thermal conditions, compression, clamping, shocks, vibrations, and other stressors normally met in Amazon’s delivery system. The procedure is used to help Amazon.com certify each vendor’s packaging. Once a passing report is generated, the vendor will upload the report to Amazon’s vendor portal where the packaging as evaluated will be certified. Purple Diamond Testing is a part of the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS).
Key Points:
- Challenges the capabilities of the packaged-products that will be subjected to Amazon’s delivery system
- Provides packaged-product test types via small parcel or Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)
- Project has been created by Amazon.com to help certify packaged-products
- Consider 6-AMAZON.COM-OVERBOX for general simulation for e-Commerce fulfillment
