Purple Diamond’s package testing lab is located at 183 Mikron Road in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, 90 miles from New York City and 60 miles from Philadelphia, serving clients nationwide

How large is Purple Diamond's testing facility?
Purple Diamond’s package testing facility is 13,500 square feet. It houses six dedicated testing labs, including a product testing lab, an environmental conditioning lab, a stability storage area, a dynamics lab, a TAPPI paper testing lab, and a materials/CCIT lab. All testing, engineering, and design is performed in-house by our expert team.
What types of testing equipment do you have?
Our testing facility features state-of-the-art testing equipment, including vacuum chambers, compression testers, drop testers, and vibration simulators. We also have a high-altitude chamber that can mimic the effects of air travel. In addition, we have over two dozen environmental chambers to perform your temperature testing, stability testing, and more. All equipment is routinely maintained and calibrated regularly.

What information do I need to provide in order to receive a project quote or estimate?
Before our team can provide a project quote or estimate, we need to learn a little bit more about your product and its packaging. Please fill out the form on our Contact page with a brief summary of your project. Then, our team will reach out to schedule a call so we can dive deeper into your goals and specifications.
What is Purple Diamond’s standard lead time for testing, design, or engineering projects?
All project lead times are subject to project specifications. Project start and completion times will be determined during our initial quoting process. We do offer expedited testing services, for an additional fee.
If you have a testing project in mind, we encourage you to Contact our team to start the scoping process. Projects are tested on a first-come, first-serve basis.
I have a time-sensitive project that needs to be completed as soon as possible. Can my project be expedited?
Purple Diamond offers expedited services on a per project basis for an additional fee. Contact us today to learn more about pricing for our expedited services.
Will Purple Diamond pick up my test sample?
Yes. For an additional fee, local pick-up is available on a per project basis. Our team will coordinate the delivery or pick-up of your test sample during prior to starting testing.
Will I be notified when Purple Diamond receives my test sample?
Yes. When samples are received and testing commences, you’ll receive an email or phone call from the team at Purple Diamond.
How do I check the status of my testing project?
Our team at Purple Diamond believes in transparent communications and will be in touch with you regularly during your project. If at any point, you would like a status update, you can also email your point of contact at Purple Diamond.
How long does it take to receive my test report?
Turnaround time for reporting may vary according to the complexity of the project. You can email your point of contact at Purple Diamond at any time for a status update.
Will my samples be returned or disposed of after testing is complete?
Samples will be handled as directed, determined upon signing, and prior to the start of testing. Additional fees for disposal will be charged. Disposal and proof of destruction of test samples may be provided for an additional fee.
There will be no additional fees for sample pick-up within the specified timeframe in the testing agreement. Samples must be retrieved within 15 business days after the completion of testing. After 15 business days, samples will incur warehousing fees or be disposed of and an additional fee will be assessed. To schedule pickup of your samples, please email your point of contact after testing has been completed.
Can Purple Diamond return my test samples via delivery?
Purple Diamond offers return sample delivery for an additional fee by common carrier, small parcel, or company truck. Return delivery of test samples should be coordinated with your point of contact, after testing has been completed. Samples must otherwise be retrieved within 15 business days after the completion of testing.
Does Purple Diamond create a test plan?
Yes, our team will gather your project specifications to determine an appropriate test plan. We’ll discuss any potential add-on services as the project dictates or as an opportunity arises during testing. All testing follows prescribed procedures; however, modifications to test plans can be made at any time during your project.

What packaging testing services does Purple Diamond offer?
Our package testing capabilities at Purple Diamond include materials testing, product testing, stability storage, and CCIT. We also offer comprehensive package testing, including package integrity testing, distribution testing, e-commerce package testing, pallet testing, hazardous goods testing, and cold chain testing.
Please note: Our facility does not house a chemistry laboratory and we do not perform any clinical laboratory testing.
Which regulatory standards do you follow?
Testing complies with ASTM, ISTA, ICH, and ISO standards, ensuring alignment with global regulations for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other industries.
Do you support stability testing for pharmaceuticals?
Yes. Purple Diamond provides ICH-compliant stability storage and testing to ensure product quality and patient safety.
Does Purple Diamond perform any Amazon Package Testing?
Yes, as an Amazon APASS partner, we provide package testing to help you meet Amazon’s Ships in Own Container (SIOC), Prep-Free Packaging (PFP), and Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP) certifications.
What types of packaging design solutions does Purple Diamond provide?
Our packaging design solutions at Purple Diamond include virtual prototyping, structural package design, and pallet/shipment system design. Our team can also provide consulting when it comes to creative adaptation and sustainability.
Does Purple Diamond provide package engineering support?
Yes, our team provide package engineering consulting and support to help analyze the strength, durability, and flexibility of your packaging. Solutions include cube utilization and prototype development, as well as onsite audits and vendor/supplier audits.
Can I be present while Purple Diamond performs testing for my project?
Yes, we have a client lounge available for clients who wish to observe their testing project.
If you wish to be present during testing, we ask that you notify our team during the scoping process so that we can schedule accordingly.
How does Purple Diamond guarantee confidentiality?
We understand that many clients are working on products that may be unreleased to the general public, or under strict confidentiality. As a result, we take confidentiality and data privacy seriously. We do not disclose client names or brands to other clients or third-parties. Our facility is under 24/7 surveillance. In addition, we do not publicize any written or visual content regarding your project. Please notify your sales representative during the scoping process if your project has any special requirements or contractual agreement specifications.
Does Purple Diamond require Non-Disclosure Agreements?
As part of our commitment to confidentiality and data privacy, Non-Disclosure Agreements are exchanged and completed during the onboarding process, prior to the project start date.
How much does package testing cost at Purple Diamond?
Our pricing is project-specific and determined by your project’s unique requirements and scope. Following a brief introductory phone call in which we discuss your goals and project specs, we’ll provide a detailed quote.

Does Purple Diamond charge additional fees?
In some cases, Purple Diamond may charge additional fees. This includes fees for sample pick-up/delivery, sample storage, and expedited testing. All additional fees will be disclosed to you by the Purple Diamond team.
Are Purple Diamond's testing laboratories accredited?
Purple Diamond’s laboratory is managed in accordance with the requirements of ISO 17025:2017 through ANAB. Our scope of accreditation is available here.

How does Purple Diamond resolve quality-related issues?
Purple Diamond has a rigorous Quality Management System (QMS) in place as required by our ISO 17025 accreditation. Any quality related issue is addressed on a case by case basis, as prescribed by our QMS.
